Bank Bloomberg London Underground.

  • Installation of 2No LUL Mitsubishi PUMY systems. 2No condensing units and 7No evaporators
  • Installation of Unitair air handling plant
  • Installation of Flaktwood HT axial fans
  • Installation of Flameshield fire rated duct ranging up to 1200sq
  • Non-fire rated ductwork and fittings
  • Installation of 40No MAP dampers ranging from 200sq to 1000sq
  • Installation of attenuators
  • Installation of hot and cold water services

VRF comfort cooling / heating system was installed to serve a number of rooms. All Mitsubishi, utilising sub-surface approved evaporator units with modified casings and filter sections.

The evaporator units are installed across two VRF systems to provide fault tolerance in the majority of rooms served.

Pipework is insulated in Ultima Armaflex and installed on hot dipped (post galvanised) medium duty Legrand cable tray.

Pumped condensate drains are installed from each evaporator and condensing units

Each room unit is controlled via a local wall mounted controller. The systems are also controlled by an AE200 central controller

All refrigeration pipework has been strength and leak tested, and then commissioning carried out in accordance with Mitsubishi procedures.

The general supply and extract AHU serves back of house areas across the station box. The toilet fan provides extract ventilation from the WCs on basement 1 level 2.

An arrangement of galvanised ductwork provides air distribution for the general AHU and toilet extract system, with grilles complete with opposable blade dampers installed. Wherever the galvanised ductwork crosses a fire compartment, an MAP motorised smoke/fire damper is installed inline in the ductwork.

An arrangement of Flameshield fire rated ductwork provides air distribution to and from the plant room and UMC supply and extract fans, running up to ground level discharge/intake positions.. These ducts perform general and smoke ventilation functions.. All ductwork has been installed strictly to Flameshield's specification to ensure that the ductwork achieves compliance with the relevant BS/EN standard.

Caice attenuators are installed around the AHUs and fans.. Where attenuators are installed within the fire rated ductwork, the attenuators are built to Flameshield specification.

A fire rated filter box is installed within the ductwork for the condensing unit plant room supply ventilation. This filter box is manufactured by Unitair to a 3000C 2 hour fire rating.

Air balancing and air leakage has been carried out.

New domestic water pipework was installed from the incoming water main, running to serve welfare and cleaning facilities

Pipework has been installed in EN1057 R290 copper utilising Yorkshire Xpress fittings, and mounted using brass munson rings. All pipework is insulated in foil faced mineral wool, sealed using silver tape.

3No water heaters have been installed, the hot water heaters are to provide instantaneous hot water to each area, providing minimal distances for hot water pipework to minimise any risk of legionella bacterial infection.

Domestic water pipework was pressure tested to 1.5x the working pressure to ensure soundness. The new water services pipework was also chlorinated to sterilise the piped system and ensure compliant levels of biological hygiene have been achieved.

We made a very good collaboration with our client Giffen Group, and Hochtief

The installation was completed to a very good standard and all deadlines were met in order to allow the entrance to open on time. Both MAP and Flameshield inspected the installations and highly complimented them. The current Bank station upgrade are using our installations as examples. We have continued to work with Giffen Group and Hochtief on other projects.
