Bank DLR Diversions

Commander UK LTD's scope of work at Bank Station includes re-routing and installing various mains, setting up a new spiral duct for toilet extraction, and completing pressure and biological testing, while also modifying and installing a Mitsubishi system, smoke dampers, and other facilities in a newly constructed battery and cleaners room.

Bank Station is to be provided with a new station entrance on King William Street.

Monument station.

New escalators will be installed and onto the existing DLR concourse and therefore diversions of the In addition to the entrance new platforms and cross passages will be made to join Bank and services will be required.

Our works entail the working in the inverts and trenches with medium risk confined space competencies.

Commander scope of works involved:

  • Re-route and install of 4No 100mm pumped mains. Approx 80 metres runs on all
  • Re-route and install of 3No 80mm pumped mains. Approx 80 metres on all
  • Re-reroute and install of 42 and 22mm copper water mains. Approx 100m
  • Installation of new 180mm spiral duct for extract toilets.
  • All pressure tested to 1.5 x max working pressure
  • Copper pipe work chlorinated and samples taken for biological testing
  • All testing instruments to be calibrated.
  • Programs met to allow civil works to follow.

In addition to the diversion works

The PC built a new battery room (OLBI) and cleaners room. We have installed a modified Mitsubishi system meet LUL’s compliancy. The condensing unit was installed on the platform and a bespoke stainless steel cage was made. Smoke dampers were installed in both rooms and the specific detail they were installed to was the first on London Underground. An extract fan with control panel also installed. Butler sink, basin and 50L water heater also installed in the cleaners.

Tottenham Hale

From July 2017 to September 2018, at Tottenham Hale, Commander UK LTD decommissioned existing systems and installed a Mitsubishi VRF heat recovery system, air handling plants, fire-rated and non-fire-rated ductwork, new water services, and a bespoke mechanical control panel, successfully meeting all deadlines and ensuring seamless transition and compliance with LUL standards.

Bank Bloomberg London Underground

At Bank Bloomberg London Underground, Commander UK LTD installed two LUL Mitsubishi PUMY systems, multiple air handling and ventilation units, fire-rated and non-fire-rated ductwork, a VRF comfort cooling/heating system, and new domestic water services, all of which were rigorously tested, commissioned, and met all project deadlines, with the installations receiving high praise from MAP and Flameshield and serving as examples for ongoing upgrades.
